    How to Set Your Network Marketing Goals and Outcomes

    Setting goals is how you move forward in life. Goals give you long-term vision – mixed with short-term motivation. The main problem with goals though, is they can be a little overwhelming. You may have so many goals that you don’t know where to start. That’s why mapping your goals out is a big deal. Just like with any journey, It’s almost impossible to get to your desired destination if you have too many stops along the way. 

    And while it’s important to understand your business and personal big picture goals, when you focus on one specific goal at a time… and if you give it the respect and the energy it requires… you can make it happen. The key is to not try to do everything at once.  

    When I coach Network Marketing leaders around the world, some of the most common goals that we focus on are: 

    *  Achieving a specific company rank

    *  Reaching an income level

    *  Personally recruiting a number of distributors and/or customers

    *  Helping a certain number of team members qualify for a specific company rank

    *  Developing a new skill(s)

    *  Remaining consistent in certain areas of their business

    *  Or working on their personal development

    Let’s take a look at the steps I walk people through to help them identify and achieve their goals. 

    Step 1:  Clarification & Motivation 

    To have any chance of success, you first need to get crystal clear on the goal that you want to accomplish and why you want to accomplish it. 

    Clarity comes from being specific about your goal and being able to measure it. It’s not enough for you to say, “I want to grow my business.” It’s better to be intentional and say, “I WILL recruit 30 new distributors into my business in the next 90 days.” 

    Just make sure that the goal you set is realistic. For example, if you’re 100 pounds overweight and your goal is to lose 100 pounds in 90 days, unless you’ve discovered a secret not yet known to modern science or medicine, you’re not going to reach your goal and that can discourage you from setting future goals.  

    Step 2:  Write It Down 

    Most people rarely write down their goal AND their “why. That’s why most people never reach their goal. To help keep you focused and motivated, you should write down your goal AND your “why.” Remember to be as specific as possible.

    Step 3:  Get Prepared

    Now that you’ve got your goal and you’ve written it down, the next step is to get prepared both mentally and strategically.

    Make A Commitment 

    During this preparation period, the most important thing to do is make a commitment that no matter what, you’re going to follow through. Successful people are completely committed toward achieving their goals. 

    Then, once you make the commitment, it’s time to declare it to the world. Post your goal and why you WILL be a success on your social media pages and personally tell all your family and friends. 

    As I like to say of any commitment, “Make a decision, announce it to the world and then figure it out.”

    Plan Your Time 

    Once you’ve committed to achieving your goal, you also need to decide the amount of time you’re willing to commit to making it possible. How much time per day/week are you willing to give? 

    Each day ask yourself how much time you’re willing to commit and what you’re going to do during that time to move you closer to achieving your goal. 

    Clear the Decks 

    Napoleon Hill said that great achievement is usually born of great sacrifice. Now, this doesn’t mean that you need to suffer to achieve your goal, but what are you willing to put aside while you clear the decks to focus on your goal?  

    Believe it or not, one of the most common things that can stand in the way of you achieving your dreams is your to-do list. Your daily routine can rob you of your potential

    To reach your goal, find ways to clear the decks and get rid of all distractions.  Decide what you’re willing to give up or cut back on so that you can focus on reaching your goal. 

    Accountability & Support 

    Accountability for achieving your goal is something that YOU need to create. Before you jump in and go all out, recruit your inner circle of family and friends to help support you in achieving your goal. You can even find someone who wants to achieve the same thing you do and work together, share ideas, and push each other. Maybe make it a competition.  

    Staying On Track

    A great way to help you stay on track is to create some incentivesand even some penalties – that you can either reward or penalize yourself with if you achieve or don’t achieve your goal. 

    It’s important to be able to visualize achieving your goal.  How are you going to celebrate? How are you going to reward yourself?  And what are you going to do if you don’t follow through? Are you willing to take away something that you enjoy? 

    Step 4:  Take A Breath, Forgive Yourself & GET STARTED 

    So this may sound different than anything you’ve ever heard before, but before you get started, it’s important to forgive yourself. That’s right. Before you start this journey, take a deep, deep breath and forgive yourself for every mistake that you’ve made up until this moment when it comes to achieving a goal.  

    Forgive yourself for every time you’ve fallen down. Forgive yourself for every time you’ve been inconsistent and for every time you’ve made a mistake. Let all that go. It’s easy to be hard on yourself in the pursuit of a goal, so give yourself permission to start with a clean slate, a fresh page, and a better plan because: 

    YOU ARE WORTHY!

    YOU ARE DESERVING!

    YOU ARE CAPABLE!

    YOU CAN DO THIS!

    Now let’s go make it happen!
