The number of people joining the Network Marketing profession is at an all-time high. The amount of financial commitment needed to join a company is low and a Network Marketer has a less chance of failing than a small business owner with a storefront.
These statistics are both good and bad. They are good because they show a huge opportunity for people just getting into Network Marketing. The problem is with so many people coming into the profession, many are not being properly trained on how to build a business let alone how to train someone else… and this causes fast distributor drop out and people who leave the profession with a bad-taste in their mouth for network marketing.
There is a large number of us that joined Network Marketing after being told a lie. We were told that it would be easy, without work, and pretty much grow itself. We were told that the products are so good they will sell themselves and people would be dying to sign up.
You and I both know this is far from the truth. We know this is not how it works.
BUYING INTO THE LIE OF NETWORK MARKETING ONLY CREATES FAILURE
I have a suggestion for the profession. Find prospects, nurture the relationship with that prospect and when the time is right to present your opportunity. Then during your presentation do NOT lie to them. Tell them:
- If you really want to make it big you are going to have to get to work.
- If you really want to grow your business you are going to have to talk to hundreds of people.
- If you really want to gain the skills you need to succeed you are going to have to invest in training.
People that know they can’t handle these types of activities will never join. However, that will save you so much time trying to motivate them, trying to encourage them. You can focus your attention on the group of people that produce results.
Go-getters, the producers, the winners will see these truths as an opportunity. They will appreciate the baseline. If I have noticed one thing about the top recruits is that they break down their business into 4 mindsets.
- What do I need to learn to solve this problem? Where is the best place to learn those skills?
- What is the first action step I need to take?
- What metrics will I measure to make sure I am on the right track?
- How and when will I evaluate my performance?
Most up-lines have trouble completing all four of these concepts. In the past, they have been able to learn new skills, take action, and measure their results. However, many up-lines have trouble evaluating the effectiveness of their efforts and the efforts of their team.
SELLING THE DREAM THAT MAY NEVER COME TRUE
Unfortunately, many of you have experienced this. You were sold a dream of becoming a stay at home millionaire. You signed up and then….
Strategies, systems, checklists, procedures were never shared with you. You were never taught how to get trained, you were never taught the action steps required, you were never taught out to measure your progress, and you never evaluated by your company or your up-line.
I know this happens every single day, BUT…
BLAMING YOUR UPLINE WILL NOT GET YOU ANY CLOSER TO SUCCESS.
It is time you pull yourself up. It is time you get the training you need to succeed. It is time you list out your action steps and figure out the metrics you need to make the most of this opportunity. It is time you define your own dream and start working towards it.
